Morning
Morning
We’ve all heard the scripture, maybe you have even memorized it….
â€œWeeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”Ps 30:5

A few years ago, this was said to me by someone who felt that God was speaking  this into my life at the time.
Well, I was encouraged. I held on to this as a promise of one day, once and for all, waking to find the warm blanket of morning  finally enveloping my life.
I could get through whatever was going wrong now, because very soon, my “joy would be full”.  Or so I thought…….

What I soon found, was that first of all, God could have been speaking about a number of things in my life, or second, it was a timing issue. Or maybe, just maybe this was something that needed to be applied to every area of my life?

A few weeks ago, while reflecting over the past couple of years, I realized there were times I had that “joy in the morning”, but there was also a lot of “weeping in the night”. This wasn’t a casual fluctuation of emotions, but it was life lived as the scripture had said!

Just think of our natural days and nights. Have you ever fallen asleep at night, worried that when you wake the next day, the sun will have refused to shine?
Of course not! We’ve all heard the saying, “It’s like clock work”.  Well, it is clockwork. That’s how we mortals set time and break it down. It all started with where the sun was shining at any given moment of the day.  You know, God just says, Let there be a sun to light the day, and a moon to light the night, and that’s it! We don’t give it a second thought. The cycle of day and night is constant and steady. And, it is unavoidable! We can’t stop it anymore than we could have started it.

So I thought, let me apply that scripture to the journey of life, (Thinking of the natural days and night). Just as sure as there will be morning, dancing, and joy, we will also have weeping, pain, and then there’s that darkness. It is unavoidable!

The encouraging thing, (probably simple to most), is that we can be assured that no matter what we are facing, (disappointment, fear, failure, loneliness), there will soon be that warm blanket of morning again. Knowing this allows us to really LIVE the scripture –
“I have learned in whatever state I am in, therewith to be content”. Phil 4:11

If we had all the pieces of our life’s puzzle  in front of us, we still wouldn’t be able to put it together!  Thankfully, we have such an awesome Father who takes really good care of us.

So just remember, while you are sleeping tonight,
He is orchestrating your tomorrow….
